Trier lies on the river Moselle and is at the heart of the Moselle wine region of Germany. It is an ancient city with more than 2000 years of history dating back to Roman times. One of the best preserved Roman remains is the colossal Porta Nigra and the Basilika right in the centre of the City.  Today it is a thriving town with many attractions such as:

Porta Nigra
  • Roman remains including an Amphitheatre
  • magnificent Cathedral
  • Market Square with mediaeval architecture
  • Boat trips along the River Moselle
  • Annual Beer Festival
